Updates from the CHS teams in Missouri
Varsity Girls Team:

  • Monday - Varsity girls played MVCHEA Mustangs and lost 52 - 36.
    Dakota Renfree had a double double with 10 rebounds and 10 points plus 3 steals. Amber Farrar was all around with 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals , and 9 points. Brooke Farrar was injured in the first quarter and had 2 assists, a steal, 5 rebounds , and 2 points. Cristilynn Rood had 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.Dakota Renfree went 8 for 8 on free throws. ~Coach Gina Farrar


  • Tuesday - We played the MVCHEA Mustangs and won 52 - 36. Katie Henderson was our top scorer with 16 points with a nice 3 pointer and 6 rebounds. Kelley McDivett was our top rebounder with 14 rebounds. Kristine Steinmeyer had 3 HUGE blocks! Taylor Villaluz closed the game going man to man against a girl 3 times her size - took a tackle. Melanie Braund was awesome on defense with 2 steals, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and some great man to man. R'dona Warren led us as a point guard and still went in for 2 rebounds against a team larger than ours. ~Coach Gina Farrar


  • Wednesday - Today the varsity girls did not have a game scheduled because of the many showcase events.

  • Thursday - Our Varsity Girls went up against CHEF Arrows from Tulsa, Oklahoma today at 5:45PM. Brooke Farrar rejoined the team at point guard after injuring her ankle Monday. R'dona Warren and Melanie Braund both sunk their first three pointers of the tournament. Katie Henderson added 2 three-pointers to her tournament totals plus she was high scorer with 11 points. Taylor Villaluz stole a rebound from a 6 foot post player. VG posts out-rebounded their opponent 43 to 32 and the final score was 43-39. We won!!. ~Coach Gina Farrar

  • Friday - Friday the Varsity Girls faced off with Kansas City East Lions. They had a slow start but ended the game strong. Again the VG posts out-rebounded their opponents by 20 rebounds. Katie Henderson sunk another 3 pointer for the fourth game in a row totaling 5 for the tourney so far. She was also the second top rebounder with 11 rebounds and the high scorer with a total of 9 points. Dakota Renfree was top rebounder with 12 rebounds plus 1 block, 1 assist and 3 steals. Melanie Braund had 3 rebounds, a steal and 3 points. Kristine Steinmeyer had 6 rebounds, a block, 5 points, and a steal. The final score was Knights- 32 and Lions-24. ~Coach Gina Farrar

  • Saturday - Varsity girls faced off with the NCAA Warriors from Nashville Tennessee for the 1A Championship. Even though the girls outrebounded and outblocked the Warriors, they were unable to capture the win placing them in second place. The game was very physical - Brooke Farrar was reinjured in the second quarter and Cristilynn Rood's knee was injured in the fourth quarter. Our overall record this week was 3-2. All Tournament awards went to Katie Henderson, Dakota Renfree, and Kelley McDivett. The Christian Character Award went to Brooke Farrar. ~Coach Gina Farrar

    Varsity Boys Team:

  • Monday - Boys Varsity played the Oklahoma Storm. The Storm is ranked #2 out of the 80 Varsity teams here and beat us 60-32. The boys played well and worked hard but could not keep close to them in the fourth quarter as the Storm extended their lead near the end of the game holding our high scorers to:
    Sean Sharpe with 9 pts, Josh Salera with 8 pts, Jake Garriga with 6 pts. High rebounders were: Josh Salera 7, Jake Garriga 6, Andrew Paterson 5. ~Coach Jeff Paterson


  • Tuesday - We played the Pulaski County Flames from Arkansas and lost 70 to 66. The boys Varsity team played a great game with a lot of great action.
    High Scorers: Jake 26 pts (6 for 6 on 3's), Andrew 11 pts, Sean 11 pts, Josh 8 pts, Mark 6pts
    Rebounders:Jake 10, Josh 7, Mark 3, Adam 2
    Assists:Andrew 8, Josh 5. ~Coach Jeff Paterson

  • Wednesday - Josh got voted to the 2nd team all American Team and Andrew got voted to the 3rd team All American. Out of 800 varsity boys they were two of the 50 kids that got to play in the all star game at Missouri State University. Sean, Mark, and Jake were able to participate in the 3 pt contest. Jake made 2 out of 15. Mark 5 out of 15. Sean 8 out of 15. ~Coach Jeff Paterson

  • Thursday - We lost to Derby Invasion from Kansas: 68-35 This was a hard loss, great competition in division one!!! Jake scored 13 pts and 9 rebounds. Andrew 10 pts and 4 rebounds. Cody stopped the 6'8" & 6'7" guys from scoring too much. When we tried to high five them the guys hit their elbows! Chance made his first three pointer! Over the big guys too. ~Coach Jeff Paterson

  • Friday - We lost to Faulkner County from Arkansas: 58-53. We were down by 24 at the end of the third quarter and got within 3 pts with 15 seconds left in the game! Great comeback, almost did it! Jake had 19 pts and 10 rebounds. Josh 12 pts and 5 rebounds. Andrew 9 pts and 6 rebounds. Mark 7 pts. Adam 4 pts and 3 rebounds. Sean had 5 rebounds. We are playing our last game for 31st or 32nd place out of the 80 teams! Way to go Knights! ~Coach Jeff Paterson
